The Medhyk
This first release of “The Medhyk” Shiraz commemorates 125 years of winemaking by the Angove
family in South Australia, established by Dr WT Angove in 1886. Medhyk is Cornish for Doctor and
“The Medhyk” is named in honour of our founder’s medical profession and his Cornish origin.
Three distinguished sites on the gentle slopes of McLaren Vale were selected for this wine with
vine ages ranging from 40 to over 60 years. These gnarled vines struggle and produce less than 1½
tonnes per acre of extraordinarily high quality fruit.
Maceration and fermentation occurred in half-tonne fermenters over an extended period to allow
the full, soft, juicy fruit flavours and silky tannins to be coaxed from the grapes. Basket pressed and
matured for eighteen months in French oak barriques and puncheons, each barrel was individually
assessed prior to assemblage and bottling on the Angove Family Estate.
This wine shows the purity and texture only found in Old Vine Shiraz from McLaren Vale and is the
benchmark from which the Angove Family honours their past and ventures into the future.

Zibibbo
The Zibibbo variety is noted for its delightfully fresh aromas and light fresh palate making it the ideal
variety to use in sparkling wine. The variety is part of the Muscat family and as such is the only grape
to produce wine with exactly the same aroma as the grape itself.
Delightfully fresh, this frothy, sweet ‘alfresco’ sparkling wine displays crisp floral aromas with citrus
peel and creamy flavours on the palate. Pale straw in colour, the wine shouts of celebration and
exuberance, and with a modest 8% alcohol, is ideal on a lazy sunny afternoon with friends.
